Wayfinding that supports clinical training and collaboration

Rosenfeld Hall, a cornerstone of the UCLA School of Medicine, spans 30,000 square feet and serves as a hub for surgical training, simulation, and standardized patient programs. The facility is designed to foster collaboration and hands-on learning, featuring workshops and a 60-person classroom where future health professionals can come together to practice, learn, and innovate.

On the second level, the School of Medicine’s Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology (CAIST) lab brings cutting-edge training to life, offering educational robotic surgery, surgical simulation, and virtual surgical experiences. RSM Design was invited to enhance the user experience through thoughtful wayfinding design, helping students and staff navigate the complex environment with ease while supporting the building’s mission of advanced medical education.
