The blend of office spaces with healthcare facilities, including the groundbreaking cancer center, adds a layer of innovation that is unmatched in the region. The FivePoint Gateway & City of Hope campus wayfinding and donor signage system is more than just a navigation tool; it’s a testament to thoughtful design that enhances the overall experience of the Irvine Great Park region. By seamlessly blending into its surroundings and prioritizing user experience, this project sets a new standard for wayfinding in healthcare and office environments.
One of the key challenges was to create a wayfinding system that could seamlessly guide users through a vast healthcare and office environment. To address this, RSM Design collaborated closely with the FivePoint client team, Brightview, and City of Hope to develop a warm and inviting wayfinding system. The focus was on clear and legible signage that not only guides but also forms a connection between the entities on site and the natural landscape. The use of warm materiality, such as wood panels, ties directly into the architectural features, creating a cohesive and visually appealing experience.

Donor recognition at the FivePoint Gateway & City of Hope campus goes beyond traditional plaques—it’s an integral part of the storytelling within the built environment. Designed to reflect both generosity and innovation, the signage honors contributors in a way that feels personal, purposeful, and seamlessly connected to the architectural experience. By embedding these acknowledgments into the fabric of the space, the design not only celebrates those who made the campus possible but also reinforces the mission that drives the institution forward.
